The AMDA is an umbrella association that unites Catholics hailing from Mbarara Archdiocese, living in Kampala and surrounding areas such as Entebbe, Mukono, Wakiso, and Jinja1. Through their various initiatives and programmes, AMDA provides a supportive platform for these individuals to connect, grow and contribute to their communities.

Uganda Martyrs' Day commemorates the martyrdom of 45 young men, both Catholic and Anglican, who were executed between November 1885 and January 1887 for their refusal to renounce their faith. The martyrs' unwavering faith and sacrifice serve as an inspiration to many Ugandans and individuals worldwide. It's in this spirit of unwavering faith, resilience, and commitment to community service that the AMDA carries out its work.

As we honour the memory of the Uganda Martyrs, it is inspiring to see the values they stood for being upheld and carried forward by organizations such as AMDA. In their mission, they embody the spirit of the martyrs, serving their communities with unwavering faith, resilience, and an enduring commitment to service. As we celebrate Uganda Martyrs' Day, let's honour their sacrifice by continuing to support and uplift our communities.
