Readings: Acts 2:14a, 36-41. 1Pt 2:20b-25. Jn 10:1-10
The Chief Thief makes no efforts to hide his agenda of stealing, killing and destruction. Yet, as humans, with full intellectual and moral responsibility (yes, we're not just dumb sheep), we still choose him, his wiles, and his agents. Apparently, the sheep themselves open the gate for the Thief (and knowing the nature of the Thief, he'll surely devastate the flock). We reject the voice of the One who promises life in full and follow the destroyer of life.
May Jesus Christ, the Good Shepherd, lead us into fulfilling our particular calling in life. May He save us from false and Force agents.

In the common field of agriculture, animal husbandry is done for the purpose of getting benefits out of one's flock. When people are given responsibility over fellow people, they may sometimes be tempted to look at them like animals to be tended. To them, the flock is to be milked, exploited, and eaten. To achieve this, the flock must be deceived as much as possible. That way, these supposed leaders become agents of the Chief Thief.
